mono-mcs software package provides Mono C# 2.0 / 3.0 / 4.0 / 5.0 compiler for CLI 2.0 / 4.0 / 4.5, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mono-mcs
mono-mcs is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mono-mcs package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mono-mcs *
You will get with mono-mcs package name, version, architecture and description in a table
